Winterlezing 2 | Migratie als DNA van Amsterdam 1550-2021

By: Jan Lucassen

Migration as the DNA of Amsterdam 1550-2021
An almost too topical subject is provided with historical background by Jan Lucassen: what role did immigration, or rather, did immigrants play in the creation of the city? Why did different groups of migrants come here and from where? Where did they settle and who were these people? How were they viewed?

Whose ancestors never actually entered the city as migrants? With today's perspective, it is particularly interesting to delve into the globalization of long and not so long ago and what it has brought us.
