About event
With Motian
A sonic journey through silence, breath, and suspended improvisation. With Motian reinterprets the poetic legacy of the legendary drummer and composer Paul Motian, exploring the fragility of time and the power of sparse sound.
Between whispered melodies and open improvisations, the music becomes an open space: intimate, unpredictable, alive.
Paul Motian was one of the most poetic and innovative drummers in jazz history. After performing with Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, and other giants, he redefined the drummer’s role—from mere accompaniment to a melodic and autonomous voice. As a bandleader, he explored a rare sensitivity, blending lyricism, silence, and freedom into a timeless musical language.
Marco Papa – guitar
Amadeo Bonaiuto – trumpet, flugelhorn
Finlay Panter – drums
Doors open at 8:00 PM
Free entrance – suggested donation: 6–12 €
