About event
Cinema goes living room... We're showing "The Q is an animal"
There will also be delicious vegan burgers 🍔😍🤤 from @Plant-basedBerlin
Film content:
In a cloak-and-dagger operation, slaughterhouse operator Werner Haas has slaughterhouse waste dumped into his front yard. Furious, he files a complaint against unknown people, triggering a police investigation in which various villagers and animal welfare activists are targeted. The police investigate, while a dedicated volunteer from the local newspaper comes across inconsistencies in the expansion of the slaughterhouse.
In Tobias Schönenberg's social satire, the crime plot only serves as a hook and framework for a filmic discussion of the meat industry, meat consumption and social norms. The production of THE Q IS AN ANIMAL relies on “a pointed script and an excellent ensemble – an entertaining and thought-provoking discursive massacre around the hot topic of meat consumption.” (Film Service)
Many thanks to Drop-Out Cinema for making the films available!
