As part of the Creative Days festival, we will be introduced to Renae Shadler with her work in process Renae Shadler
The project is created within the international residency program EFFEA Residencies.
How can a dance work be created that explores the relationship between man and the atmosphere on stage, and how can such awareness inspire new ways of life? Drawing from her experience choreographing and dancing in a variety of weather conditions—wind, sun, and rain—Renae Shadler develops a bodily-rooted understanding of how climate affects physical, mental, and emotional states. During his residency at the Creative Days festival, he begins work on his new solo Behemoth — the 3rd part of the Dance meets Aerocene trilogy, which he creates with the Aerocene Foundation (initiated by Tomás Saracen) and in which he responds to climate change through aerosol sculptures. Festivals in Italy, Poland, Denmark, Germany and Portugal also develop a dialogue between dance and ecology through workshops and discussions, creating a European exchange.
