About event

How to "EDUCATE" or introduce your music to a non-traditional audience

"Educational projects", in the world rather called "Outreach & Community" are more and more part of the life of professional musicians. And not only because we don't want to have empty concert halls in a few years. How do you make them entertain the audience (as well as you) and really convey something? (And no, we don't mean the biographical data of the composers.)

A hands-on workshop where you can learn about how we are currently thinking about children's and adult audiences at the Education Center in Carnegie Hall, you will take away proven methods for building educational project and real case studies give you an insight into pedagogy focused on presenting music to a non-traditional audience.

Klára Boudalová is a popularizer of music, she teaches music pedagogy at New York University, she created educational programs for the Czech Philharmonic for more than ten years and also collaborated with other leading Czech orchestras, such as the Symphony Orchestra of the City of Prague FOK or the Symphony Orchestra of the Czech Radio. Klára is the dramaturg of the Springteen program for the young audience of the Prague Spring festival and works as a curator of creative education within the framework of the European Capital of Culture 2028.
She is the author of the Philharmonic for Schools project, which brings great classical music to students throughout the Czech Republic, but also in the USA , England and Germany. She is also the author of the award-winning Don't Be Afraid of the Classics audiobook series. He is now also planning cheerful popularization concerts and workshops with the New York Philharmonic and members of Carnegie Hall Education. Surprising connections also appear in her work, such as collaboration with the American space agency NASA on a project to popularize science and music.

The workshop is intended for students and teachers of HAMU.
