The trumpet and jazz workshop of one of the world's most important musicians, John Davers, under the patronage of the deputy director of the conservatory, Tomáš Oravec.
John Daversa
American jazz trumpeter, electronic valve player, composer, arranger, conductor, bandleader, producer and educator. He is also a multiple Grammy Award winner. In addition to an active musical career, he also works as a professor at the University of Miami's Frost School of Music.
Since his student days, he has been writing and arranging music for smaller, but mainly larger musical bodies - orchestras and big bands.
How member of the Monterey All-Star High School Big Band has accompanied such iconic legends as Dizzy Gillespie, J.J. Johnson, Clarke Terry and others.
In the nineties, he founded the Junk Wagon Trio and later the John Daversa Progressive Big Band, with which he still plays today. He is extremely musically active, collaborating with various artists and musical bodies such as Joe Cocker, Sheryl Crown, Michael Bublé, Fiona Apple, Burt Bacharach, Renee Olstead, Herbie Hancock, André Crouch, Dr Dre, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Bob Mintzer Big Band, Yellowjackets and many others. In 2019, he won 3 Grammy awards in the category of best big band, best big band arrangement and best improvised solo.
