About event
The Small Carpathian Educational Center in Modra invites all fans of photography and artistic experimentation to a creative wet cyanotype workshop led by Šimon Lupták.
The event will take place on Sunday, November 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the premises of the National Educational Center in Bratislava.
About the technique
Wet cyanotype is an impressive extension of the classic photographic technique - cyanotype, which is known for its deep blue tones. In contrast to the traditional procedure, the emulsion is still wet. Pigments, salt or citric acid are introduced into its layer, which react with a light-sensitive mixture and create organic, abstract and unique effects.
The result is unique artistic images that are created by a combination of photographic record, painter's gesture and chance - painting with light, water and time.
What the workshop will offer:
During the afternoon, participants will get to know the principles of wet cyanotype, preparation photosensitive layer, working with materials and the process of exposure and development. In the practical part, they will create their own author's imprint - a blue image that can take the form of a photographic collage, plant motif or abstraction.
The lecturer will share with the participants practical tips on how to further develop the technique and combine it with other visual media.
About the lecturer
Šimon Lupták is a freelance photographer and videographer. This year, he chaired the jury of the AMFO amateur photography competition for the Bratislava region. In his early work, he devoted himself to classical and experimental techniques - cyanotype, lith-print, collodion process or double exposures. Today, he uses his experience as a lecturer in photography courses and workshops, in which he emphasizes freedom, experimentation and an open perception of photography.
As he himself says: "Let's create, think, express ourselves and discuss without inhibitions, freely."
