We invite you to a textile repair and upcycling workshop.
The workshop will be divided into two thematic units.
In the afternoon (10:00 - 13:00) there will be a workshop full of practical demonstrations of how you can repair damaged clothes. Bring your favorite pieces that you wouldn't dare to fix yourself. You will learn it (by hand or on a sewing machine) and take home a repaired piece ready to wear again.
The second part of the workshop (afternoon from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) will focus on the production of upcycled household accessories. We will show you how to make a cushion, a practical bag, or a basket for small things from clothes and textiles. You can bring your own textiles that you no longer need at home, but we will also upcycle textiles from the autumn swap in the yard.
Woskshop will be led by Katarína Jakubovie. She originally studied textile restoration at the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Prague, where she specialized in the repair of historical textiles. However, her neighbors and friends imagined her profession as actually repairing and modifying clothes, and since Katka has a close relationship with sustainability in practice and doesn't like to throw things away, she didn't refuse any challenge and gradually got better at modifying ordinary clothes.
You can get a participation card at selected locations from our sponsors, or directly at each event from the organizers.
In order to include the participation card in the draw, it is necessary to participate in at least 5 of the 13 project events.
