Kiko López and Héctor Plaza - Workshop Urban-Contemporary Movement & Partnering

The workshop, inspired by the performance Lo Que Los Arboles No Cuentan, offers a physical journey through urban and contemporary dance with a special focus on 'partnering', listening and connection between bodies.
It is a space where movement leads a dialogue with nature, contact and sight; a space to reflect on what we share with trees: roots, time, adaptation and memory. An invitation to explore the body as a sensitive territory - from urban impulse to organic calm. And if you cut off a branch... doesn't the tree bleed?

GN|MC - PARTNERING | CREATION TOOLS WORKSHOP

The workshop is based on pair acrobatics (partnering), contact work and movement vocabulary developed during the creative processes and research of the GN|MC ensemble.

We will study different ways of carrying a partner, transferring and receiving weight, finding a common axis, counterweight, balance and joint movement in space using each other. The work focuses on building confidence, attention and willingness to take physical risks.

Participants learn partner sequences from earlier works (repertoire) and create new material through specific physical tasks. Through observing and investigating the mechanics of movement, we try to multiply the ways and approaches to understanding movement and the body.
