About event
We invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition Tamász Kaszás Home Made Homes with exhibition curator Lýdia Pribišová and a creative workshop during which you will make a birdhouse - a simple but important refuge for small songbirds.
In the countryside and in cities today, birds often lack natural cavities in old trees. The nests can thus replace places where they can safely nest and bring out young. During the meeting, we will show the basic principles that a good house should meet in order to be really safe and functional for the birds. Together, you will then create your own booth, which you can take home and hang in your garden, in the park or in a suitable place in the neighborhood. The workshop is open to everyone who wants to create something with their own hands and at the same time take a small step for the nature around us.
The workshop will be led by ornithologists from the organization SOS/BirdLife Slovakia. During the creation of the nests, they will gladly advise you and explain why such nesting sites are so important for birds in today's country.
