As part of the World Music Fassie event: The best of the World Music Festival in Bratislava we invite you to a concert of the legendary World Music Groups of Värttinä. Their roots reach Karelia in Finland, namely the female vocal traditions. The characteristic feature of Värttinä are harmony sung by charismatic singers, the main stars of the group. The band was created as a children's project in the village of Raäkkylä near the Russian border. Since its international success in 1991, Värttinä has been performing all over the world and has built a reputation of one of the most inventory ensembles on the World Music scene. on the border with Russia. They first became famous at the traditional music festival in Kaustinen, where they became a group of the year in 1987 and at that time they also recorded their debut album. Over decades, the band has retained its quality despite various peripetia. They have had thousands of concerts in dozens of countries, including highligs as Rock In Rio playing for over 200,000 people. Only the singer and composer Mari Kaasinen-Paaso and the Lassi Logrene remained from the original group. In the current concert, they are complemented by singer and accordionist Susan Venhovaar and singer and flutist Karolia Kantelinen. Rabulfts, as well as co -authors of several songs are the mentioned violinist and player at Juohikko Lassi Logrene and guitarist Matti Laitinen, and the new member is percussionist Yukka Kyllönen.
