Following the announcement of Lemmy’s passing on the official Motörhead facebook added this post:
'We will tell you more in the coming days, but for now: Turn Motörhead loud, turn Hawkwind loud, turn Lemmy's music LOUD! Grab a few drinks, share your story and celebrate the life of this dear, special man, who also celebrated life itself tremendously.'

Metallica:
'Lemmy, you're one of the main reasons this band exists. We are forever grateful for your inspiration.'

Ozzy Osbourne:
< em>'I lost one of my best friends today: Lemmy. He will be missed. He was a warrior and a legend. I'll see you on the other side someday.'

Nikki Sixx:
'I'll miss you mate, just like our conversations. You were always a pillar of dignity.'

Gene Simmons:
'Let the heavens shake, my friend.'

Flea:
'Oh no. Lemmy knows the big secret now. One of the greatest rockers of all time. An insane and unique bassist. My hero. Wow.'

Guy Pratt:
'I said Lemmy first stuck to the slot machine of the Portobello Gold. Then at the slot machine at The Embassy Club. Then to the slot machine of any place that had one in West London or Soho. He was always in for a chat and the school example of a real rock 'n roll gentleman. He knew an incredible amount of military history and was always terribly funny. We'll never see anyone like that again. A real ace of spades. RIP Lord Kilminster.'

Adrian Vandenberg:
' You can find what you think of the music, but in my eyes, this guest was rock 'n roll personified. He made music without compromise, he always said what he thought and whatever the occasion or dress code: He always walked around like a dangerous pirate, who makes Jack Sparrow look like Mickey Mouse. It was always special to meet him, usually somewhere backstage. We then had a conversation and I always remembered what a sweet, kind-hearted man he was. A great and surprising contrast to the Lemmy on stage.
R.I.P. Lemmy, you are missed in today’s pre-fabricated music world, run by puppeteers, finance people, image builders and graduate business executives. Rock In Peace.'

Brian May:
' It's hard to find the right words, especially when you know Lemmy would laugh at us if we all said nice things about him. Every time I complimented him in person, he would look at me mockingly and amused. But he was definitely a hero and unique on all fronts. He was an impossible mix of personalities. His music was fierce, aggressive, uncompromising and you find little love or compassion in his lyrics. As a person he was a pacifist, a great thinker and a man who cared about his friends. I remember the time I got to guest perform with him. It was the most eardrum shattering experience of my life. Many bands have a huge wall of amps to impress, but the volume on stage is relatively low and it is brought to a controlled maximum for the audience with microphones and PA. But not Motörhead, of course with a bypass on the 'o'. All the amps were on and once again at 10. (okay, 11!) Lemmy’s sound was like you were in a shredder or shredder. It was not a normal bass sound. Even when not playing a single instrument, Lemmy's bass was still deafening and that from 50 hertz to 10K. And he hammered (I choose my words carefully) about 200 notes a minute, most of the time. It was, and is, unique. And on top of this monumental bowl of herrie was that very distinctive, tobacco-made, screaming vocal.
Lemmy is now stuck in a bar somewhere, knocking back Jack Daniels with the devil next to him, laughing together at the muffs of life. RIP Lemmy.'
