Exhibition Duration: 7. Duality of what we remember and what we know it could have been, but never happened. It is an introspective memory survey, its complex nature and the way we create our inner world. Memory, as Mercé suggests, is not a simple recording of life, but a selective process that forms our identity and desire. Memories are not static images preserved in the memory archive, but flexible, repeatedly creative stories. In this process, memory consists not only of authentic memories, but also their subjective interpretations, imagination and imagination, reconstructed according to the current context of emotions and needs.
The artist uses the format of old slides - a symbol that evokes nostalgia, memories and at the same time the apparent authenticity of captured moments. Slopes are more than just a material carrier of the image; They become a metaphor of memories that are fragmentary, focused on the past, but also shrouded in indefiniteness. Mercé combines black and white photographs, drawings and fragments of previous works, creating a mosaic of 1,000 films that involuntarily depicts the features of life that could exist. Memories are transformed into a new narrative, which extends from personal experience to collective imagination, creating a diary of possible lives and relationships.

XESCO MERCÉ (*1965) is an interdisciplinary artist who is expressed in the differential media, from painting, object, photo and video to performance. It is typical of the use of irony and playful interconnection of elements at the border of reality and fiction. According to artistic critic Lucien Verneuil, his work developed "halfway between poetry, irony, criticism (and self -criticism) of art, methodological experimentation, schizophrenia and social coup". In r. 1988 successfully completed his studies of fine art at the Universitat de Barcelona. In r. 1997 was a founding member of the artistic team La Xina a.r.t. He is the editor and director of the artistic magazine La Conxinxina, a member of the network of European premises of contemporary creation Kanîbal'hopox and, together with Luíd Casad, creates a Performative Duo Deluxe. He exhibited in many countries of the world - so far he has carried out more than forty separate and one hundred collective exhibitions.
