The 26th year of the Year-round Historical Dance Seminar for beginners and advanced students since 1998. Classes take place every Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the dance hall of the Elementary School under Vyšehrad, Vratislavova 64/13, Prague 2 / tram station . Vytoň/.
Start of classes: Monday 7 October. 2024 at 5:30 p.m.
Three Kings Ball: Saturday 11.1. 2025 in the refectory of the Emmaus Monastery in Prague 2, 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Program:
Renaissance dances of the Mannerism era of Emperor Rudolf II. according to authentic choreography recorded and published by famous dance masters around the year 1600 /Italy, France/. Participation is not conditional on having completed previous courses.
The content of the dance lessons is an introductory warm-up and stretching of the body, movement training, the basics of dance technique of the feet, basic step motifs, theory of dance development and examples of dance styles. The length of one lesson is 120 min including a break.
Personal equipment for dance lessons:
Suitable dance shoes, preferably sneakers. If you want to buy them and don't know where, we recommend several stores. Men can use shoes for ballroom dancing when learning historical dance, ladies so-called pedagogical sponges with a low heel. (Women's dress shoes with high stiletto heels cannot be used!).
