YAKUZA
YAKUZA is back with a new album. After the acclaimed and celebrated ‘AILERON’, the band was heard on stage for years to come. Along the way, we were still able to hear versions of their songs in concert with 'LIVE at Festival Iminente', a natural indicator of a band that didn't stay in the studio and that, both during the pandemic and its subsequent deconfinement, occupied itself with this important facet of their music.

The band… well, let's be honest: not even the members look at this entity as a “band”. YAKUZA is a mobile collective, a group of experienced musicians who have never been given to these frontier notions. In the new album '2' there is only the certainty that Afonso Serro, Afta3000, Pedro Ferreira, Alexandre Moniz and Pedro Nobre are the 5 fingers of a hand that overflows with unique fingerprints.

In addition to YAKUZA, all These musicians are very involved in the Portuguese musical fabric. Afonso Serro founded Mazarin and Atalaia Airlines; Afta3000 is an experienced bassist with an electronic music project; Pedro Ferreira is part of Quelle Dead Gazelle, and has already produced the likes of Pedro Mafama, the Creature and Expresso Transatlântico; Alexandre Moniz has been present in the indie universe, mainly as a member of Galgo; and Pedro Nobre is a jazz musician, with one foot in Portugal and the other in Holland and, at a young age, led the large band Loosense.

There is an aesthetic direction that points towards the most modern corners of jazz, but does not ignore the electronics and the desire to dance that exists between the synthesizers, the syncopated drums, the luxurious keyboards and the great bass lines, busy and powerful. There is freedom to create new worlds in free jazz, as in “AIDA INTRO”, but let’s not forget the landscapes to dream about and a composition that does not look at jazz as a stagnant notion, be it in “TRUQUE DI MENTE”, “CHEAT” or “HALF DOSE”.

ACID ACID
ACID ACID is a cosmic, psychedelic and meditative trip. Instrumental music created by Tiago Castro, with guitar and various synthesizers in a one-man band format (but sometimes with guests).

It is layered music, with textures upon textures, with the aim of create a journey, a collective meditation for all those who listen to and watch an ACID ACID concert.

There is inspiration in the psciadelia of the 1960s and 70s and also in the countless sonic experiments of the krautrock movement of that period , especially the more environmental and spatial side.
