Yung Pepp - Between Spätibank and Splash! Stage: The new voice from Leipzig
At just 17 years old, Yung Pepp is one of the most exciting newcomers in the world German indie rap scene. His songs go viral, his lines hit the heart - and his stories take place where many grew up: between the soccer field, the prefabricated building and the streets of Leipzig-Plagwitz.
After an intensive start to the year with pop-up events, two appearances at Splash! Festival and a rapidly growing fan base, Yung Pepp continues to attract attention. With tracks like “Young Dreams of Gold” – over a million views on Instagram – or the new single “Wassereis” he proves that he is more than just a short hype.
On beats from Florida Juicy he combines personal insights with attitude, humor and a clear message: His world would rather be honest, colorful and loud than gray and “brown”. His music feels like a coming-of-age film à la the mid-90s - only with the scenery of Leipzig instead of L.A.
Support comes not only from the community, but also from personalities like Kurt Krömer, Enissa Amani and artists like Filow, Ritter Lean, Savvy or Kasi.
In addition, Yung Pepp is starting to shape a whole new generation - politically and musically. He shows that even at a young age you can hold on to your dreams and make them come true. His attitude, his courage and his vision make him a voice that has an impact beyond the musical context.
Another milestone: his first solo show on the roof of the Moritzbastei was completely sold out with 900 tickets - a clear signal that Yung Pepp has come to stay.
Yung Pepp shows: New voices don't come out of nowhere - they grow with attitude, courage and a clear view of their own reality
