About event
The functionalist building of the architect Tomáš Šašek from 1937-1938 catches the eye at first glance - with its elegant rounded corner and unique star dome on the roof. The observatory itself was an extremely progressive element in its time, which emphasized the importance of science education for girls as well.
During the tour, you will have a look at the interiors designed with an emphasis on light, space and everyday comfort for students. You will learn how the school functioned during the First Republic and what fate awaited it during the communist era. Today, the building is returning to its original mission and is preparing for extensive modernization. The tour will also include a visit to the unique original auditorium or the modern school chapel, which brings an intimate and peaceful atmosphere to the building.
Your guide will be Tom Bílý.
