As a Kvír people, we have too good experience when they use us as figures on the chessboard of political debates. But it is possible to cope at all when some states justify war crimes by protecting our rights? “Civilized” on the one hand, while on the other they commit crimes against humanity, support repressive regimes, or commit or tolerate other forms of oppression. The most common mentioned is the case of Israeli colonialism in the territory of historical Palestine, where cities as Tel Aviv present themselves as a Kvir of refuge, but the arrivals of them take place on the ruins of destroyed Palestinian villages. Israeli bombs hit Gaza and kill everyone without distinction, regardless of orientation or identity. of its own communities. While large companies flood Pride events with their logos, they continue to pay alms to their employees in the global south countries. In connection with this, however, the Kvir Membership of Propalestine teams often becomes the target of insults and satirical passwords such as “Chickens for KFC”.

What do these reactions mean? What questions do they open? And where is the border between authentic support and political marketing? It will reflect personal experience in the context of the current geopolitical and social situation. Together we will openly talk about what is happening, how different groups perceive it and what is in the game when the rainbow flags appear where we would not wait. Layla.
