This day is one of the most important milestones of our history.
28. October 1918, 107 years ago, the Czechoslovak Republic was established - the first common state of Czechs and Slovaks, which was free, democratic and sovereign. In the Czech Republic, 28 October is one of the biggest public holidays and the day of public. How little we remember the importance of this day - let's change it together!
Czechoslovakia has become a hope for nations that had previously lived under the oppression of monarchies, and it was proof that freedom and mutual cooperation could overcome centuries of freedom. Remembering this day means to remember that freedom does not arise from itself - and it is not a matter of course at all. All the more in our present.
28. October is not just a historical memory. It is a challenge to defend the democracy we have once gained and which we have to protect today - just as those who fought it for us more than a century ago. On the square near Severínina in Malacky!
