Závěrečný koncert: Jirák & Dvořák – Klavírní kvintety

Two massive opuses for piano and string quartet will be performed by promising and many-awarded young performers, pianist Matouš Zukal and the Ševčík Quartet. Dvořák's Piano Quintet in A major op. 81is among the staples of the world repertoire and is proof of Dvořák's compositional genius. Jirák's Piano Quintet op. 50 is among his mature works created after the end of the Second World War, more precisely between June 9 and September 21, 1945. It is an impressive work, the composition of which in a difficult time for Jirák, full of grievances and false accusations, saved his mental and physical health.
