A unique opportunity to touch the story through virtual reality. Screening of two VR films after the introductory lecture and a discussion with producer and director Ondřej Moravec about virtual reality in film.
Ondrej Moravec will explain the creation process and the potential of virtual reality in film. The lecture will be followed by a unique opportunity to experience virtual reality in two films: Fresh Memories: The Look and CHINA 21-22.

Fresh Memories: The Look
Can you look into the eyes of those whose lives were destroyed by war? A short Czech-Ukrainian film uses virtual reality to transport viewers to the bombed-out Kharkiv - one of the most affected cities in Ukraine. Through intense eye contact, the creators here present the stories of people affected by the Russian invasion. The camera enters the ruins of houses, hospitals or children's playgrounds, where residents affected by the war look the viewer directly in the eyes and convey their emotions. Marina Abramović's performance The Artist Is Present became the inspiration.
CHINA 21-22 (CAN, 2022, 25 min, dir. Thierry Loa)
Would we think about the world differently if our point of view changed? Human experience limits the perception of the world around us: on average, we see and hear it from a height of 165 centimeters, which greatly limits the view of our surroundings. This immersive project offers a different perspective – from a bird's eye view, we see the landscape from afar, revealing patterns and changes in the landscape caused by mass industrialization and urbanization that usually remain hidden. Explore the environmental and moral consequences of the Anthropocene by comparing the natural and the artificial.
The evening was prepared by the distribution platform KineDok together with the Czech Center Bratislava.
