No Other Land
r. Basel Adra, Yuval Abraham, Rachel Szor, Hamdan Ballal
Palestine/Norway, 2024, 96 min., Czech subtitles, MP15
Basel ADRA Activist from Masafer Yatta on the West Bank Israeli occupation. When he meets Israeli journalist Yuvala, an unusual partnership will be created among them. The Oscar documentary was created as an act of creative resistance of four activists in order to achieve greater justice. The experience of growing under military control and restrictions was deeply shaped, but at the same time there was also the need to look for space where he could freely develop his own identity. This is one of the reasons why he decided to go abroad - not only for education and new possibilities, but also to seek himself. The discussion will be moderated by Julián Vrábel, coordinator of human rights education in Amnesty International Slovakia. The partners of the event are antenna - network for independent culture and garden - center of independent culture.
