This walk is for all who want to learn something about the history and present of the Jewish community in Prague. I prepared the walk as a short excursion to the history, life and customs of the Jewish community. I will introduce you to the basic concept of Judaism, basic holidays and customs. We will also briefly touch the story of the Jewish community during World War II, life during the previous regime and the present. But I can sum up in 6 minutes
about traditions, customs, holidays and everyday life - because hand on heart who knows how to Do Šábes celebrate?
We will discuss eating and daily regime.
Transition rituals, their meaning and form. And how else is the Jewish funeral.
We will go through the former Jewish part of the city and talk about its history.
And of course we will discuss Golem, because without it it would not work :)
and without Franz Kafka it would not be possible either, so he will take his great too.
So come on. It will be brief, clear, in contexts and full #ahamomements
