About event
Commented walk through the Jewish city, where no stone was left standing.
Today's district full of luxury apartment buildings used to be a slum ghetto with mysterious passages and narrow alleys lined with garbage stuck to each other houses. However, the genius loci of the medieval town has not completely disappeared, it breathes at the synagogues, living guardians of a thousand-year history, or at the high wall of the old Jewish cemetery.
The walk will focus on what remains of the Jewish town - the Pinkas, Klaus, Staron synagogues , Vysoká, Maiselova and Spania, Ceremonial Hall, City Hall, Jewish cemetery. Visitors will learn how to properly honor the dead when visiting Jewish cemeteries, who the mysterious Rabbi Löw really was, the creator of the Golem, as well as what everything is kosher and that the town hall clock can go backwards and it's not a mistake.
A what year are we actually living in? Recommended preparation: the film The Emperor's Baker and the Baker Emperor. During the walk, you do not enter the interiors or other chargeable areas.
