The Paris climate agreement obliges the countries of the world to limit the increase in global temperature to the level of 1.5 °C, at most 2 °C compared to the temperature before the onset of the industrial revolution. We have almost exceeded the first limit and are fast approaching the 2 °C threshold. The scientific consensus documents in detail how serious the consequences of global change are for non-living and living nature and for humans. Moreover, instead of slowing down, the entire warming process seems to be accelerating. Are we approaching the point of no return?
