About event
SO FIER double concerts | Barbara Breedijk & Emmelie Zipson
In 2025, Fiere Vrouwen will celebrate its 10th anniversary in collaboration with the ZOJazz Stage. From January to September 2025, female musical talent will be in the spotlight from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM. Every month surprising shows on Sunday afternoon in the Zandkasteel in Amsterdam-Zuidoost.
Two special artists perform in this unique performance: Barbara Breedijk and Emmelie Zipson. An afternoon full of cabaret, music and personal stories.
Barbara Breedijk sings about everyday life with humor and wit. She writes cabaret songs that highlight human experiences, large and small, in a playful way. She is also known for her musical wrap-ups, where she ends events in her characteristically humorous way with a song that summarizes the day. With her guitar and sharp lyrics she effortlessly swings her audience from one insight to another. Barbara admires Marie Curie, the pioneering physicist and chemist, who continued her research into radioactivity against the grain. The same determination is also a common thread in Barbara's own work.
Emmelie Zipson presents an intimate and moving exploration of courage with her performance Moed(er). Inspired by the story of her grandmother, who survived the resistance and Ravensbrück, Emmelie wonders why she does not feel this bravery in her own life. Now, at the age of 46, she wants to live more consciously and courageously and be an example for her daughter. Emmelie is a versatile singer, actress and voice coach with an impressive career. Her talent took her from stage to television, from the Netherlands to London. Her work is always imbued with depth and emotion, in which she interweaves personal stories with universal themes. This double performance promises to be an afternoon in which humor, vulnerability and courage meet. Two artists, each with a unique voice and message, take you on a journey through life's big and small questions. Book your tickets now for an afternoon that you will remember!
