About event
So proud x Zojazz Stage | Meike van der Veer & Leonie Tielemans
In 2025, Fiere Vrouwen celebrates its 10th anniversary in collaboration with the Zojazz Stage. From January to November 2025 female musical talent from 15:30 - 17:00 is in the spotlight. Surprising shows every month on Sunday afternoon in the Zandkasteel in Amsterdam-Zuidoost.
Meike van der Veer is a versatile singer with a great reach. Many still know her from the very first edition of The Voice, where she got the quarterfinals with her powerful clear voice. Since then she has been heard frequently on the Dutch pop stages and festivals. This Sunday she plays a mix of ballads, her own work and swinging songs full of inspiration. Meike sings what is lived - warm, honest and with the invitation to be hit. This year she released her single "so that the light can stay", a vulnerable and hopeful song that - just like Meike himself - brings softness where it is needed. A Meike concert is an experience that you do not want and should not miss.
This afternoon you can also enjoy singer Leonie Tielemans, who brings an ode to the iconic singer Joni Mitchell. Leonie studied singing at the Utrecht Conservatory and the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Mitchell's music has been able to hit many hearts for generations. Classics such as "Both Sides Now" and "A Case of You" to "Big Yellow Taxi" are a source of inspiration for many to this day. During the theater concert "A Portrait of Joni Mitchell" Leonie and Stef Joosten make a musical journey through the life of this living legend. Leonie is an exceptional singer who, with her voice full of emotion and expressiveness, effortlessly takes to the core of Joni Mitchell's music.
