From On July 1, 2021, an amendment to the Cyberbullying Act entered into force with penalties ranging from 1 to 6 years. Also as a result of the pandemic, the growing frustration of (also) children and young people, the limited meeting of children in person, the number of incidents of cyber-aggression as well as the dimensions of its cruelty are increasing. Every third child has encountered cyberbullying, and the increase in cyberaggression is on an ever-increasing trend. The normalization of online aggression and intolerance leads directly and indirectly to an environment of hatred and extremism. The online environment enables and intensifies radicalization processes.
For this reason, it is also necessary to educate children about what behavior is still teasing and what behavior is no longer permissible and is a violation of the law. We want to prevent harm and punishment, but this requires systematic prevention and education.
