About event
CLOSE 2024 WITH SASKIA LAROO & BAND WITH THE FUNKY HIP HOP JAZZ PARTY
Saskia Laroo creates new styles, often described as 'nu jazz' or 'swinging body music'. This mix is especially evident in her favorite group, the Saskia Laroo Band, a multi-cultural unit that is overflowing with contemporary sounds and the power of tradition. Full of groovy rhythms, exciting solos, and exciting rap vocals. Her extensive experience in bands of different genres is part of her strength. She enjoys putting it all together in her own musical concept and brings together all the differences into a new whole. To achieve this, she chooses musicians who look at different styles with an open mind. She says: “I want people to have a good time and dance when I play. I don't just play for other musicians.”
Saskia always moves between jazz and groovy sounds. On December 28 she will perform in an intimate setting at the ZOJazz Stage with her band consisting of Simone Mens, Warren Byrd, Willem Smid and MC Complex. All this in the Sand Castle in the middle of the Amsterdamse Poort.
