About event
Literary music evening directed by Milos Sládek in the Museum of Literature. But picish novels represent much more, for example some period realities that cannot be read from archival sources, a peculiar black humor often bordering morbidity, a probe into the thinking and practices of the declassed layers of the company of the 16th century. The show is based primarily on the excerpts of two novels, the anonymous life of Lazarilla of Tormses and Quvened's life of the Rošťák. He wants to point out the similarities and above all the differences between Czech and European early modern literature. It will focus mainly on Italian, Spanish, French, German and partly also English prose. At the same time, the cycle is a small celebration of Czech translators of the 20th century. It is a relatively little -known fact that Czech translations of the most important European literary works of the early modern times are among the master translation works, among the absolute top modern world translation. We will proceed chronologically, but taking into account some context and genre ties.
