The campaign of 16 days of activism against violence against women is an international campaign that arose from the initiative of the first Institute for Global Leadership of Women (Women's Global Leadership Institute) sponsored by the Center for Women's Global Leadership (Center for Women's Global Leadership) in 1991. The founders chose November 25 (Violence Against Women Day) as the beginning of the campaign and December 10 (International Human Rights Day) as the end of the campaign ) because they wanted to symbolically link violence against women and human rights and emphasize that such violence is a violation of women's human rights.
