Zukunft der Arbeit - Prozessinnovation durch immersive Technologien
Future of work - process innovation through immersive technologies
Event by: Geschäftsstelle Zukunftsorte
Location: Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin (HTW Berlin) - Campus Wilhelminenhof, Wilhelminenhofstraße 75A, Berlin - Bezirk Treptow-Köpenick
About event
Whether for training or in production. Whether for industry or in the craft business. Whether for the cultural industry or in urban planning – the areas of application for immersive technologies are diverse. The progress in the areas of artificial intelligence and the development of digital infrastructures is enormous. This has also led to increased use of innovative technologies such as virtual, mixed and augmented reality. Thanks to this, technical systems can be rethought and maintained or the knowledge transfer for their operation can be reprocessed.
In one afternoon you have the opportunity to get to know concrete application examples that have been tested with business partners. You can test over 10 interactive try-out stations and discuss with the creators. In short: Come by and immerse yourself in new working methods and realities of the present and the future.
Program:
3:00 p.m. - Arrival - H001 (main room)
3:20 p.m. - Welcome
Intro: Short introductions from the organizers (Future Finds City, Future Places Berlin, MR4B)
3:30 p.m. to 3:50 p.m.: Introduction to the Immersive Technologies Hub (ITH) of the HTW
- 15 minutes Prof. Pablo Dornhege presentation of the ITH
- 5 minutes Q&A
The Immersive Technologies Hub (ITH) is one Cross-departmental initiative of the HTW Berlin. He connects actors from various study programs, research projects and the teaching service center in order to advance immersive technologies.
3.50 p.m. to 4.20 p.m.: 5 pitches for further application examples (H001)
Alexander Kramer, University of Applied Sciences (HTW) Berlin: MR4B – Project Keep Cool
How can dangerous situations in industrial and be tested and handled as realistically as possible in craft contexts? The Keep Cool project is dedicated to this question. The findings enable improved training and further education.
Kristian Hildebrand, Berlin University of Technology (BHT): INSIGHT: Immersive 3D Segmentation with Intelligent Guidance and Human-in-the-loop Interface (Prof. Dr. Kristian Hildebrand |. iisy)
INSIGHT is developing a virtual reality application for AI-supported 3D segmentation and annotation of point clouds that processes real scan data of structural and industrial environments. The aim is to increase the quality and efficiency of data segmentation through an immersive, intelligent user interface and to significantly reduce the manual effort in preparing 3D scans for AI and planning processes.
Prof. Dr. Silvia de Lima/ Felix Komander, University of Applied Sciences (HTW) Berlin: MR4B - Project KEPLER
The KEPLER project develops a mixed reality application for 3D installation planning in industrial plant engineering, which integrates data models from building planning (BIM) and process industry (DEXPI). The aim is to enable the trades involved in highly complex planning projects in plant engineering to work together in a time- and resource-efficient manner on a common database.
Jan Selchow, X-Visual Technologies GmbH: MR4B - Project MR4SafeOperations
The MR4B project MR4SafeOperations develops mixed reality and IoT supported procedures for the accompaniment, support and documentation of routine operational and Maintenance work (B&W) in hazardous environments of industrial plants. The aim is to enable the widespread use of mixed reality devices and IoT technologies in industrial environments and thus significantly increase working conditions and safety for staff.
Prof. Dr. Carsten Busch/ Marino Gabel, University of Applied Sciences (HTW) Berlin: food4future - Food of the Future
In “food4future living lab” is about urban food production and its scalability and economic viability. The processes or results behind them are digitally recorded, visualized and gamified in order to make them more clear and practical for science, industry and politics. This opens up new ways of communicating knowledge.
4:20 p.m. to 5:20 p.m.: various try-out stations
Try out the application examples presented yourself and have a direct conversation with the developers.
5:20 p.m. Meeting: Impressions & final questions for the Speakers
From 5:30 p.m.: Conclusion and get-together
Location: HTW-Berlin Campus, Wilhelminenhofstr.75A 12459 Berlin (Schöneweide an der Spree), building/room: H001
