About event
When Karlstorbahnhof was founded in 1995, it was able to draw on a broad network and a lot of previous experience in the area of socio-cultural work in Germany and Baden-Württemberg. Together with the State Working Group of Sociocultural Centers of Baden-Württemberg, we now invite you to take stock: What is the role of socioculture today and where is the development heading? What can and must socially engaged cultural work achieve in a democracy? What changes are necessary to do justice to our plural society? Together with those committed to socioculture and all other interested parties, we want to look for answers and initiate new ideas.
The event has two parts that can be attended one after the other or separately:
It starts at 4 p.m. with a workshop by the Radical Daughters collective.
From 6 p.m. there will be a keynote speech by the sociologist Dr. Ulf Bohmann and a panel discussion.
Ulf Bohmann is a substitute professor for sociological theories at the Chemnitz University of Technology. He researches political theories and the political sociology of democracy. In Chemnitz he is involved in the conception and scientific support of the European Capital of Culture. In September he presented his findings on social and democratic theory at the Socioculture Fund conference.
