ZUURSTOF bij Re_Nature Festival

On September 20, ZID Theater will present its latest multidisciplinary location show oxygen at the Re-Nature Festival in Ruigoord.

##### about the show

In the multidisciplinary location theater performance * oxygen, about the search for breathing space, * directed by Karolina Spaić, the inseparable bond between people and nature is central. While the trees are disappearing, the world slowly loses its breath. No oxygen without trees - without oxygen no life. *Where can we breathe?*, The performers ask the public.
This performance combines physical play, visual elements and music to immerse the audience in a stifling reality in which every breathing counts. * Oxygen* is an ode to resilience and an urgent call for action. Inspired by, among others, the last tree by Luke Adam Hawker and the book of Hoop by Jane Goodall, the show is a powerful moment of collective reflection.
During this time full of challenges, dealing with nature is not only an ecological, but also a social and political issue. Everything appears to be connected.
An international group of ZID Theater performers makes the struggle for breath and survival tangible through rituals, personal stories and symbolism. For example, the red threads in the room make the invisible visible: oxygen as lifeline, but also as a fragile connection between people and nature.
Oxygen is the second part of a trilogy, after the successful performance ** Water ** (Explorez 2024), and is partly produced by the European cooperation project [Trees: Project | Perform Trees] (https://PerformTrees.eu/). In addition to the Netherlands, the performance can also be seen in Greece, Germany and Spain.
