About event
Come and get to know the great story of the Tvarožkov family with the Slovak author Zuzana Kepplova.
The Sporitelne building on Kamenno námesti, the Bratislava Metropolka and the tomb of General M.R. Štefánik on Bradla - all of these are connected to the Tvarožkov family in different ways. But also the Slovak National Uprising, accusations of espionage and the imprisonment of several family members during the 1950s.
From interviews with relatives of the Tvarožkovs, from memoirs and diaries, Zuzana Kepplová decided to extract and connect their stories to write the book Tvarožkovci (Private History of Democracy).
Her book represents a literary search in twists and turns. unreliable memory, anecdotes and a lock. Against the backdrop of the fates of the Tvarožkov family from Brezovica, he touches on great history, which is suddenly somehow closer and perhaps more comprehensible to us through the fates of specific people.
The discussion will be moderated by Peter Béreš.
The discussion is part of the Absynth live festival, which was supported from public funds by the Art Support Fund.
