About event
In the summer of 2024, 34 years will pass since the formation and first concert of the band. The current line-up of the band consists of a personnel-stabilized team around the founder, leader, original author of the compositions, guitarist and singer Norbert Červenák. For the entire duration of the band's existence, his brother Laco Červenák takes care of the bass counterpoint, and for more than half of its existence, the percussionist Peter Krško covers his back rhythmically.
The band occasionally collaborates with the excellent Polish blues guitarist Tomek Kruk, saxophonist Jan Kopčák and violinist Erik Kadlíček.
The band currently has a concert program with a wind section led by the erudite musician, saxophonist and arranger Ján Kopčák https://www.jankopcak.com/, which in addition to its own musical projects and collaboration with the band ZVA 12-28 BAND has also collaborated with artists such as Marián Čekovský Band, Ivan Tásler, Marek Szarvaš Project, Jozef Hollý Band ... . The brass section, consisting of Mychal Cálik trumpet, Vladimír Trofimovič trombone and Ján Kopčák saxophone, multiplies the band's music not only with interesting arrangements, but also with brilliant solos by individual players. rock cliché. Especially in the last years of the band's existence, their original work culminates, in the years 2005 - 2015 ZVA 12-28 Band released four self-titled albums: Hrubá mouka (2005), Za vousy me potahej (2007), Z ruky frajet (2010) and Šibenica 2015) . Each of them is musically determined not only by the typical blues modality but also by Slovak folklore. Norbert Červenák's lyrics are inspired by events, joys and sorrows of everyday life, enhanced by typical Zvolen language color and humor. In addition to studio albums, they also released the successful Live in Stará Pekárna in 2002 and the documentary DVD Live in Kazačok in 2012.
During its existence, the band won several awards. Among the most interesting are the awards of the Slovak Blues Society, for example the award for Noro Červenák "Bluesman of the Year" in 2002, which was also won by the whole band in 2007 and 2011. The band's greatest joy is the fans' interest in their original work.
