About event
I want my MTV!
The third installment of the Rock around the Screen series follows on from the previous installments, which mapped the connection between music and television across the 60s and 70s. This time we will move to the dynamic 80s - the period when video definitively killed the radio star.
The focus will be on the birth of the MTV phenomenon, which changed the way people began to perceive and consume music, stars and pop culture. We will look at legendary programs like Headbangers Ball or 120 Minutes, iconic video clips that shaped the visual language of an entire generation, and how the image became more important than the music itself.
Madonna, Prince, Duran Duran... Come and remember the legends, fashion, lasting and everything that defined the sound wave of the 80s. We look forward to seeing you!
