El vecindario de Mercês se limita a Bairro Alto y São Bento Street, el Príncipe Real y la acera del Combro. Su urbanización comienza en el siglo. XVII, en tierras que estaban floreciendo, originó el Praça Das Flores, todavía hoy en día un pequeño pero hermoso jardín local.
