Daniel Matejča

Violinist Daniel Matejča studied the violin at ZUŠ Jabloňová in Liberec and then at HAMU in Prague with professor Ivan Štraus. He completed a number of workshops with leading violinists, organized by the Czech Philharmonic, including the absolute winner of the ZUŠ National Competition, the winner of the central round of the German National Jugend musiziert competition and the winner and laureate of the Josef Muzika Competition and the Josef Micka Competition. In 2016 and 2018, he became the most successful representative of the Czech Republic at the Kocián Violin Competition, and in 2019 he became its absolute winner. Based on these successes, the patron of the competition, Pavel Šporcl, invited him to joint full-length concerts. At the age of fourteen, he performed as a soloist in Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto accompanied by the orchestra of the F. X. Šalda Theater in Liberec. In 2022, he became the winner of the twentieth year of Eurovision Young Musicians.
