clay for kids: Modular Candle Holders, ages 6+

A creative afternoon with cocoa, shaping and color: kids design their own modular candle holders. Stackable, versatile, and unique.

Shape, decorate, create. ✨

In this workshop, each child creates two sets of 4 modular clay pieces: a donut, a star, a square, and a free-form shape. Each one individually designed, cut with cookie cutters, and finished with their own textured edges. The pieces stack together to form a candle holder or can be hung individually as tree ornaments.

The first hour is for shaping and adding texture. Then we take a cozy half-hour break with cocoa and snacks while the pieces dry a little. Afterward, it's time to paint and decorate.

After the workshop, the pieces dry completely, are fired twice, and finished with a clear glaze so their colours really pop.

Finished pieces can be collected at a cozy pickup event just before Christmas at THE WORK SHOP — with festive atmosphere and a behind-the-scenes look at the firing and glazing process.

Included:

• 1kg of clay per child, for 2 sets of 4 pieces
• Tools, cookie cutters & guidance by Lauren (multisensoric English teacher) and Sarah (ceramicist)
• Hot cocoa & snacks during the break
• Finished pieces, double-fired & glazed
• A cozy, festive pickup event including a "behind the scenes" look
