Alice Bauer
Alice Bauer graduated from the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory, where in addition to singing with Virginie Walterová, she also studied piano with Zdeňko Páleníček. Singing and jazz gradually became her main interest.
She went through a number of musical genres - from classic blues to early and traditional jazz and swing to modern jazz fusion, her own creations and modern classical music. She devotes herself to the study of Middle Eastern and Central Asian music and microtonal systems and co-organizes regular study music meetings under the banner of the modalmusic.cz association, where she also performs. a member of the Original Prague Syncopation Orchestra (OPSO) and the Instant Film Orchestra (OFO) of her brother Varhan O. Bauer, with whom she has been playing and singing since childhood. With her brother, she recorded his quasi-baroque coloratura aria for Miloš Forman's film Goy's ghosts. She released two CDs with OPSO, three CDs with the acappella Skety, and a fourth is being prepared. She recorded the CD Swing is my king with the vocal trio Hot Sisters. She is a guest in the jazz world-music band Duende, a member of the bebop band Bohemia After Dark and the author's band Hlaskontrabass-Octet of R. Ahmedová and P. Tiché.
She is also a guest in the Berg Orchestra, which specializes in the interpretation of works by modern serious music composers – Steve Reich: Tehillim and Dolly (in collaboration with the National Theater State Opera); Louis Andriessen: De Staat, Michal Nejtek: The Lightning Speed Of The Past. She performed in the English musical show Apples and Hearts in Amsterdam and Prague and in the theatrical opening of Miřenka Čechová Fragments of love paintings.
