Autorenforum Berlin
Berlin's oldest weekly reading stage. For 40 years, authors have been presenting unpublished texts every Monday at 8 p.m. in the Schwartzsche Villa in Steglitz (near U 9-Rathaus Steglitz / S 1).
Since 1984, countless authors have found their way to the authors' forum and have received helpful text criticism. The Authors' Forum e.V. sees itself as a kind of instantaneous water heater and offers collegial exchange. Many great literary careers were launched here. Some authors who have made the leap into the literary or media business are still associated with the authors' forum today. A permanent network has been formed over the years. Feel free to come over!
Format: The author reads a text for 10 to 15 minutes and then the text is criticized by experienced authors/editors and the audience. The author is silent.
Genres: Mainly short stories, but also excerpts from novels. Poems are also welcome, but please bring copies of the text for the audience. It is desirable to listen at least once before presenting a text yourself. The Meetup group is now a new foundation to reach more younger authors. Normally 30 to 40 people of mixed ages come each evening. In addition to the Monday reading, the association also offers a number of special events and readings throughout the year.
*Unfortunately, only contributions in German or translations into German when reading aloud are currently possible.*
*Unfortunately at the moment, it's only possible to present German texts. Unpublished texts that are already translated into German are highly welcome!*
