Black Tar Jesus

Under the name Black Tar Jesus hides Tomáš Kopáček and his lo-fi rock'n'roll from Pardubice.

In 2020, the third album of the project was released, the first after seven long years, in which Kopáček he inserted the months he lived through after a traumatic breakup. Party stories from Ankali, rave and severe depression, Year Insane mixes a heady psychedelic cocktail of genre ingredients such as shoegaze, bedroom pop or emo. But at the same time, the record follows Tomáš's previous projects, Mon Insomnie, Tempelhof, Peter Vtin, India or Latviri, in the spirit of his own DIY, some of which were also successful abroad. During the recording of the Black Tar Jesus record, drummer Ondřej Blaha strengthened the project, Oliver Torr helped with the sound.
