Brno Contemporary Orchestra

The BCO – Brno Contemporary Orchestra was founded in 2011 with the aim of playing contemporary world music in the Czech Republic and Czech music around the world (with overlaps with 20th century music). They want to reach listeners with music and show them that it can be a part of everyday life. With compact dramaturgical ensembles and original projects such as combining music with other arts (film, fine arts, architecture, dance...) they try to be attractive not only to the audience, but also to composers who want to encourage the creation of new works tailored to the orchestra. The founder, artistic director and chief conductor of the BCO is Pavel Šnajdr.
