Čeněk Svoboda
Čeněk Svoboda comes from Liberec, where he studied violin at the ZUŠ and private solo singing with professor Svatava Šubrtová. In Prague, he studied choral conducting at the pedagogic faculty of the Charles University in the class of Mgr. Mark Valášek. Here he also works as a doctoral student, teaching music history and working on his dissertation on the topic of authentic interpretation of early vocal music. Since its foundation in 2005, he has been a regular member of Collegia 1704, he also cooperates with the ensembles Musica Florea, Collegium Marianum, Dresdner Kammerchor, Doulce memoire and others. As a choir master, he leads the Liberec student ensemble Cum decore at the F.X. Gymnasium. Šaldy and the Prague early music ensemble Collegium 419 received the national choirmaster award in 2005.
