Chalupski

Václav Chalupský, known in the music field as Chalupski, is an established personality in the field of emotionally impressive music as a musician and composer. With a passion for creating deeply evocative compositions, Chalupski offers his listeners a platform to explore their own emotional depths. Although classically trained, he draws inspiration from a wide range of musical influences and continues to explore the boundaries of his artistic expression. His unique musical journey thus connects live performances of compositions from his solo albums, studio work and collaborations on projects of a commercial and artistic nature.

At the beginning of his musical journey, Chalupski founded a project under which he began to develop his compositional work. In 2019, he debuted with the album Vortex, on which he presented a set of piano compositions, partly accompanied by a string quartet. The release of his second album Improvisations for Dance in 2022 was heralded by his many years of musical experience in the field of movement theater and contemporary dance.

Chalupski continued to explore the field of composition in collaboration with contemporary dance choreographers. Based on his ability to tune in to the creative ideas of his collaborators, he created compositions that established a dialogue between his music and the art of dance. Chalupski collaborated on many choreographies and live dance performances, including Nekryta by Tereza Krejčová, Obrat konce by Michal Záhora or the award-winning production dis pla y by Tereza Lenerová and Jitka Czechs.

Chalupski's ability to connect with collaborators and intuitively understand their artistic needs is also reflected in his work as a composer of music for film and other commercial and artistic projects. For example, he worked on the soundtrack for Lukáš Valíšek's short film auto.au.rum or for the film The Story of Tomáš Bubák and composed music for the educational application developed by the developers SkillAdicts or promotional spots for BOBO Blok and the Czech Dance Platform.
