Činohra Národního divadla Praha
The drama of the National Theater is the largest theater in the Czech Republic, it plays on three different stages. The largest one belongs to the national emblems, symbols of Czech culture and independence of the Czech nation. We try to offer titles from the classic Czech and world repertoire here - also due to the architecture of the space (in addition to domestic literature, we play Pride and Prejudice or A Midsummer Night's Dream). The productions here are distinctly artistic and narrative. A large part of the repertoire is situated in the Estates Theatre, a building where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart once conducted. This classical theater makes it possible to present both world classics (Molière, Chekhov, etc.), as well as contemporary Czech and international plays (Moira Buffiniová, Rebecca Lenkiewiczová) or adaptations of literary works. The most progressive is the Nové scéna building, which was built in the eighties of the 20th century and Činohře serves as a venue for original projects and Czech premieres. The ND drama here presents seven to eight premieres a year, however, a large part of our activity also consists of accompanying activities and educational programs.
