Crywank
Originally James Clayton's solo project was created in 2009 in Manchester. Inspired by the breakup and anti-folk of the time, he wrote the first two songs in one evening without any knowledge of chords. Drowning in self-pity, self-criticism, or honest confessions, Crywank built his typical "sad-but-fun" reputation. Three years after the project was formed, drummer Dan Watson (ex-GNOD, Denim & Leather) joined and a bit of punk was added to the anti-folk influences. The band decided to end its activities in June 2020. After releasing a total of six DIY albums, 30 million streams and endless tours, they are now embarking on their last, worldwide tour in 2020.
