Cyrille Oswald
Cyrille Oswald began his professional career in 1994 during a stay in the Caribbean. After returning to Holland, he put together a Latin American group and studied at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, graduating in 2001. That year he founded the quartet Amalgam, recorded an album and performed with original compositions. In 2004 he recorded another album with originals together with the Danish guitarist Mikkel Ploug. 2007 he formed a trio and another quartet together with Stefan Lievestro (acoustic bass), Jeroen van Vliet (piano) and Erik Kooger (drums). Together they recorded the CD "Nerve", which received recognition from both the public and the press (5 stars in JAZZ magazine). Since 2007, Cyrille Oswald has been dividing his time between the Netherlands and the Czech Republic. In Holland he is a member of the Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra and the Cubop City Big Band and freelances with many projects and bands. In the Czech Republic, he plays in a quartet with David Dorůžka (guitar), Tomáš Liška (bass) and Dano Šoltis (drums).
