Daniel Herskedal

Tubista, a bass trumpet player and composer Daniel Herskedal (*April 2, 1982, Molde) began with classical music, from which he took a lot of important for his author's work. His first instrument was the horn. At the same time, however, he was also interested in Nordic folk music. And as a teenager, he was enthusiastic about jazz thanks to the school program organized by the Storyville Jazz Club in Molde. From fourteen he played with the band Dixi until he joined the musikkonsevvatorium in Trondheim. He completed his education in Copenhagen at Rhytmic Music Conservatory. Herskedal began to develop his own ideas about the sound in the Listen trio in the second half of the zero. This was followed by a range of profile albums in various sets (including recordings with choir or temple organ) started with the City Stories (2010). The musician likes to use electronic sound effects, drones or looper for the background. In addition to solo titles, Herskedal also participated in the projects of Maria Neset or Morten Qvenilda. In the Czech Republic, Herskedal has already played with both solo and trio with pianist Eyolf Dal and percussion Helg Andreas Norbakken.
